Baby Anderson

Becky and I taught third grade together at S. Ray Lowder a long time ago. We've kept in touch through the years even though we've both moved on in our careers. Becky had the cutest two blonde-headed kids, Colin and Caroline...and everyone was delighted to find out that she and Dave were expecting #3. All these "C" names were swirling in everyone's heads, wondering just what this sweet baby would be named. And out came Anderson :)  Becky told me this summer that when baby arrived, she wanted me to take his newborn pictures. So I made sure my Saturday mornings were clear in September for whenever little man made his arrival. Everything worked out perfectly!

That morning, sweet Anderson fought sleep like you wouldn't believe. I have to give major props to Colin and Caroline for being ever so patient while we coaxed Anderson to sleep and captured these fabulous pictures. Here are my favorites from the session:

They were so gentle with Anderson!

Caroline loved "squishing" her brother.

Mom didn't even look like she just had a baby.

So grateful to have been given the opportunity to create these images for this sweet family.

Sweet Nataleigh

Oh the moment when a baby can sit up but can't go anywhere! This is my favorite age to photograph. No chasing them around, but they can look at you and at their parents, and they make the cutest faces. Poor girl got eaten up by ants toward the end of the session but was such a trooper. She made a frowny face and let out a slight whimper, and was over it. Bless her! This is Nataleigh at Cline Farm in Lincolnton. Here's the entire session:

I am loving watching Nataleigh grow up. She is just too cute! Thanks, Cyndi, for letting me capture these moments of your precious Grand-Baby!

Back to School Mini Sessions ~ August 2013

I started planning this session back in June, when school wasn't even out. I LOVE summer, but I LOVE August even more. Back to school! (Trust me, I'm over it by September) *wink, wink*

August was my favorite month as a student because it meant shopping for supplies, clothes, and my birthday. As a teacher, it was my favorite month because it meant spending my entire July paycheck on decorations for my classroom...and then getting in to my classroom to decorate with my "theme" for the year...and then charging another $1,000 to finish decorating. I think it's the excitement that's in the air that I love so much.

So, I scouted endless antique shops until I found the perfect antique school desk. And thankfully I have friends with benefits (aka props) that I was able to borrow for the rest.

I know most of these pictures were already posted as Sneak Peeks on my FB fan page, but I have selected one or two more from each session to share, so there are a few new ones. Here ya go:

THE BASSES

THE CLEMENTSES

^Her mom is a librarian, and that was her goal for this
picture, to look like a librarian. Love.

Some photo sessions I think may not be something to continue year after year, but this is a definite. I had so much fun!
