Now Announcing...Back To School Mini-Sessions!

I've known I wanted to be a teacher since I was, oh, 5 years old. My poor sister had to endure my teaching from a very early age. I lived for August. I lived for freshly sharpened #2 pencils, pink erasers that hadn't yet earned their smudge marks, the largest new box of Crayola crayons possible, erasable pens, college-ruled notebook paper, Trapper Keepers, a new backpack, a few new items of clothing, and the inevitable teacher assignment letter. I loved walking in to my classroom on the first day of school, finding my desk, unpacking my supplies, and organizing my area. I was that little girl every teacher would love to teach.

So here it is, June, and school just got out. Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled at the thought of having time off with my son. I'm excited for our beach trip next week, our mountain trip in early July, and our road trip to Michigan mid-July. But...I still live for August!

My next set of mini-sessions will be "Back-to-School" themed. There will be three staging areas, and I'm throwing around ideas such as chalkboards, old-old children's books with live bookworms, vintage school desks, an array of fake goofy glasses, and a plethora of supplies.

The sessions will take place on Saturday, August 17th from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm and on Sunday, August 18th from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm. Sessions will take place at my home, which is in Stanley, NC (really in Denver). You will get 25 minutes of shooting for up to 3 children (if you have more than 3 children you'll have to book two time-slots). Within 10 days of your shoot, you will receive a CD with 8-10 edited images and a print release. The cost is $50, and a $5 discount will be given if you (Mom or Dad---not extended family) are a school employee in any school, in any system.

I will also be offering a session that will cost $60 (or $55 for school employees), which will include a 3-image session in June that will result in before & after pictures. These 3 images will be sent via email and will not be given on a disc.

To book or ask questions, please contact me at 980-429-0401, email me at SClancyPhotography@gmail.com, or message me on FaceBook: https://www.facebook.com/SClancyPhotography

Looking forward to capturing your precious memories this August!

Mini-Sessions

I have three mini-sessions I've done this spring that I haven't blogged about, and since there are only a few pictures from each session, I figured I'd do all 3-in-1!

Nataleigh
I got to take some pictures of sweet Nataleigh when she was about 3 months old.  Nataleigh is the neice of one of the students at North Brook. She is just too cute for words! I think I'll have the opportunity to capture her sweetness again this summer, as she is just about to begin sitting up on her own. Here are my favorite Natalie pictures:

Liam
How is it possible to be as adorable as all these babies I get to photograph? Liam is one word. Scrumptious! He was happy the entire shoot, and attentive. He loved his Mama, and smiled whenever he would catch a glimpse of her. Liam's mom is a 5th grade teacher at North Brook.

The Cartees
We go to church with this amazing family, and I am lucky enough to get to take their pictures on frequent occasions! The littlest one, Baylor, was my first new-baby model. As you can imagine, photographing a large group of energy is not easy, but I most love the pictures that aren't perfect-everyone-look-at-the-camera-photos. You'll see:

^^^ Can't stand still? So what! Great picture!

^^^ Nobody smiling except Mom? So what! Great picture!

Gender Reveal!

I knew Lauren back when she was "Elle" at a salon I frequented. I followed her wherever she went because she is an awesome person, first and foremost. But also an amazing aesthetician. Lauren, with her friend Casey, now own Dollface Skin & Makeup Lounge in Cornelius, NC. Every month when I see Lauren, I would hear tales of how Tim proposed...wedding planning...the wedding...the honeymoon...and then suddenly she was expecting!

Now, being from the North, I really have not heard of "Gender Reveal Parties" before the past two years. Evidently a big deal down South? Yes. Lauren asked me to photograph her party, and I said Yes! There were friend and family galore in a beautiful home on the lake, and everything turned out perfectly. The only downside is as her mom and sister cut the cake, I was not prepared for all the jumping and screaming, so my shutter speed was not fast enough to catch her mom's priceless reaction. There's a lot of blur.

Here are my favorites:

Ok, it just took 30 minutes to upload these pictures and I didn't upload the ones with my watermark. So please don't steal my pictures :) Thanks!

Will

Sweet Will is a cousin of one of my previous New-Babies, McKinley. Will was right around three months old in these pictures and was a complete angel, much like his cousin. He was happy when we wanted him happy, and sleepy when we wanted him sleepy. Here are my favorites of this handsome little man...

Thank you, Courtney, for letting me capture these precious moments!
